A torn or elongated earlobe causes difficulty in wearing pierced earrings. Repair is a quick, easy, "in the office procedure," returning to work on the same day. Ears may be pierced in 4-6 weeks after repair.
Local anesthesia with betacaine as topical numbing agent; Patient will need several days of healing; moist wound care healing and sun avoidance a must.
